Nordic Navigators operates nordicnavigators.com and is the controller of the personal information described below. Contact: smari@nordicnavigators.com.

Information you give us. When you book a call: your name, email address, company, how you found us, and what you want to discuss. When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, and optionally your name and company. When you complete the scorecard: your answers, and an email address only if you ask for the written report.

Information collected automatically. If you accept analytics, page views and general usage. If a page fails, a technical error report containing the error, the page it happened on, and your browser and operating system version.

We do not collect special category data and we do not ask for it. Card details are never entered on this site.

To arrange and prepare for calls you book, to reply to you, to send the newsletter, to produce the scorecard report you requested, to understand how the site is used, and to find and fix faults.

We do not use it for automated decision-making and we do not build advertising profiles.

For visitors in the UK and EEA we rely on consent for analytics, which you can withdraw at any time; performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request for bookings and enquiries; and legitimate interests in keeping the site working and secure.

There are three ways onto the newsletter list and they do not rest on the same basis. Signing up for it directly is consent. Booking a call puts a ticked box on the form, which you can untick before you send it. Asking for the scorecard report subscribes you, and the form says so above the button. For those last two we rely on legitimate interests in writing to a business contact who came to us about the work. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link.

Analytics do not run until you accept them on the banner. If you decline, no analytics script loads and no analytics cookie is set. Your choice is stored in your browser and nowhere else, so it is remembered on that browser and is not linked to you.

Microsoft Clarity runs under that same choice. It records how pages are used: clicks, scrolls and how far down a page you get, played back as a session, so we can see where a page confuses people. Declining leaves it unloaded exactly as it leaves Google Analytics unloaded, and it is configured for analytics only, with no advertising use.

There are no advertising features, no cross-site tracking and no third-party advertising pixels on this site. To change your choice, clear this site’s data in your browser and the banner will ask again.

We use service providers to operate the site, and each receives only what it needs for its part: website hosting, analytics, error reporting, email delivery for the newsletter, and payment processing. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.

We do not sell or rent personal information and we do not share it for marketing. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Some service providers process information outside your country, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where information leaves the UK or EEA, it is transferred under an approved safeguard such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Booking records and related notes are kept while there is an active enquiry or working relationship, and are deleted on request. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Error reports are deleted automatically.

You can ask for a copy of the information held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw any consent you have given. Email smari@nordicnavigators.com and we will action it. There is no form and no ticket number.

If you are in the UK or EEA you can also complain to your data protection authority. If you are a California resident you have the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and not to be treated differently for exercising either. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Access to personal information is limited to what is needed to run the service, and the site is served over an encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.

This site is intended for business use and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
